Pink Slip Protection - 3 Months Service Security

If you're on a Monthly Plan and you lose your job, we'll cover your payments for up to 3 months. It's one less thing to worry about in case money gets tight. There is no additional charge for this service - it comes free with all our Monthly Plans, including the new Texter's Delight.

Current Customers

  • If you're already on a Monthly Plan, sign up below by 12/31/09.
  • If you're not on a Monthly Plan, switch to a Monthly Plan between 4/15/09 and 12/31/09, and then sign up below.

Simple as that. Once you're enrolled, you'll need to make at least 2 monthly payments and be enrolled in the program a minimum of 60 days before you can make a claim for free service.

Pink Slip Protection Program Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to the Pink Slip Program (the "Program") and supplement the Virgin Mobile Terms of Service which can be found at www.virginmobileusa.com. We reserve the right to revoke this program at any time without notice.

1. Enrollment

(a)To enroll in the Program, you must be (1) employed in a capacity that qualifies you to apply for state unemployment insurance benefits as determined by the laws of your state of residence, and (2) activated on a Monthly Plan or Texter's Delight plan.

(b) If you activate as a new customer after April 15, 2009 and select a Monthly Plan before December 31, 2009, Virgin Mobile will automatically enroll you in the Program. If as of April 15, 2009 you are an existing customer and are on a Monthly Plan you may enroll in the Program before December 31, 2009. To do so, go to http://web.virginmobileusa.com/protection and provide a valid email address at the time of enrollment. You will be asked to confirm that your email address is valid at the time you make a claim, and we will send information regarding the Program to your email address.

2. Making a Claim

You may qualify to receive Pink Slip Protection if (1) you become unemployed and are eligible to receive state unemployment insurance benefits, (2) you have made at least two monthly payments on a Monthly Plan, (3) you have been enrolled in the Program for at least 60 days, (4) your Virgin Mobile account is current, and (5) you make a claim within twelve months of enrolling in the Program. To make a claim, please call 877.662.8282. You must provide proof that you are eligible to receive or are receiving state unemployment insurance benefits, and the name on your Virgin Mobile account must match the name on the unemployment insurance benefits documents.

3. Pink Slip Protection Credits

If you submit a qualifying claim under the Program, each month for up to three months Virgin Mobile USA will provide you a credit to apply to your account with an amount equal to the lesser of: (1) the monthly charge of the Monthly Plan you are on when you make your claim, and (2) the monthly charge of the Monthly Plan you selected when you were enrolled in the Program, plus taxes and surcharges on that Monthly Plan. The maximum credit is $90 each month for three months. Customers with multiple accounts may only submit a claim for one account. We reserve the right to reverse the credit if we determine that a claim is invalid.

4. Managing Your Account When Receiving Pink Slip Protection

(a) If you qualify, you will receive a credit to apply to your account for three consecutive months following approval of your claim. The monthly charge for your Monthly Plan will be deducted from your account balance when you apply the credit to your account. This credit should be applied before or on your monthly payment due date. To insure that you have a sufficient balance to cover your monthly charge, do not use your Pink Slip Protection credit to purchase other products or services unless you have a sufficient balance to pay for these additional charges. You are responsible for any charges to your account in excess of the Pink Slip Protection credit that is credited to your account each month in the three-month period during which you receive Pink Slip Protection, including, incremental charges for mobile content such as ringtones, ringback tones, games, graphics, and text messages, as well charges for international calls.

(b) After you have received three Pink Slip Protection credits, you will be responsible for paying any monthly charges on your account on your next payment due date in accordance with the Terms of Service.

(c) If you have a registered credit card, debit card, or PayPal account (a "registered payment vehicle"), login and go to your account at https://www.virginmobileusa.com/myvirginmobile/home.do to remove your registered payment vehicle during the three months that you receive Pink Slip Protection. This will prevent your registered payment vehicle from being charged during this three-month period.

New Customers

Activate and choose a Monthly Plan between 4/15/09 and 12/31/09. You will be automatically enrolled and do not need to sign up on this page.
