Even though you can enjoy Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go 3G/4G plans using either the Sierra Wireless Overdrive Pro 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot or Franklin u600 3G/4G USB Stick, they each work slightly differently:
The Overdrive Pro device can work with most Wi-Fi enabled devices - laptops, desktops, cameras, music players, personal media players, and portable game consoles just to name a few. This device supports up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices sharing one connection.
Note: Wi-Fi enabled devices must be 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11n to connect to the Hotspot device.
The Overdrive Pro offers access to Sprint's Nationwide 3G and 4G (WiMAX) networks (where available) for up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices sharing one connection making it ideal for families on the go or small business teams. The battery on your Overdrive Pro 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot has an average of up to 4 hours of active use time when connected to a single device and will be used up faster as additional devices are connected and using it (up to 5 Wi-Fi devices are supported). The standby time is approximately 36 hours.
To get the most out of your battery life, be sure to fully charge your battery using the AC adapter. Your Overdrive Pro will charge when connected to a computer using the included USB cable, however due to the power limitations of most laptops, this may not keep the device fully charged.
You can increase your battery life by using some of these tips:
